In the first chapter we get a little glimpse of Torie's ancestors through photos which she has brought to help with the architectural accuracy of her renovation project. As she shows the photographs to her newly hired contractor, David Cameron, they stand on the front porch of the same house.  One of the first shots she displays is of several people seated along the same front porch.

That photo is actually of my own family and the place is their actual home in Fremont Iowa which  I incorporated into the cover of the book.
